The thing I like best about dining at Chez Josephine is not on the menu: it's the hug I get from the host, Jean-Claude Baker. As a blind man, I like the tactile contact.

Once, after a particularly strong hug, I said "That was a gourmet hug!" and Jean-Claude said, "You want a gourmet hug, come with me". He took me to a table and said "hug this man." A complete stranger stood up and we hugged. It turned out to be the famous french chef, Pierre Franey. Jean-Claude said, "Now that's a real gourmet hug!"

I don't feel blind at Chez Josephine,
I feel love.
