His Holiness, The Pope
Very Holy Father, We were all pleased by your presence in New York, especially when you rode in front of my restaurant, Chez Josephine. My customers and staff came out to greet you and some of us waved napkins as your limousine went by. You blessed them and one woman came to me and said "Jean-Claude, I am Jewish but I have been so moved by this man, may I keep this napkin?" Ten other customers did the same. Very Holy Father, I am only too happy to please my customers. But I am only a poor soup-seller and cloth napkins cost money. So I'd like to petition for some favors in exchange: if you don't mind, Holy Father, could you ask the Lord to steer a little business my way? As the One who changed the water to wine at Cana and produced the miracle of the loaves and fishes, I figure He knows how tough the restaurant business can be. Respectfully, |
